A Rose by Any Other Name

Investigating the gender roles and stereotypes that are present within our fashion industry and editorial photography drove the direction of this series. This can be seen in how I explore different variations of gender identities that exists within the fashion industry and editorial photography in a stereotypical mannor. I wanted to explore this as I felt that it isn’t something that is challenged enough within our modern society and that instead we take advertisement and editorial work at face value and allow toxic gender representation to surround us constantly. I conducted this exploration through using the same female model and gendered editorial techniques to represent the stark difference and associations we enforce onto each other daily.
